Radio Frequency (RF) Systems - Bobbins and Packages: (TD/TDW)
|
 |
Drying bobbins shown.
THE MOST EFFECTIVE UTLIZATION OF RF DRYERS IS ACHIEVED WHEN:
- product is homogeneous and has a regular shape: there can be a risk of fire if attempts are made to continuously process materials of different geometrical shape
- product has a uniform moisture content: flash dryers upstream of the RF units should be avoided
- the initial moisture content of the products is less than:
metal objects are avoided
the product is not passed through more than once
NOTE
The most difficult materials to treat are acrylics because their molecules become strongly polar when their temperature exceeds 80 °C. They will heat up even further in the absence of water and their moisture regain rates are very low ( 2% ).
